FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contacts: New Illustrated Book Takes Readers Back in TimeMARTINSVILLE, VA. - Before the Age of Dinosaurs there was a time in Earth’s history known as Triassic. It was a world of truly fantastic creatures, a genetic stew of the ancient and the modern. During this period, the Earth took its first steps toward the creation of modern terrestrial ecosystems. In Dawn of the Dinosaurs: Life in the Triassic, by author and paleontologist Nicholas Fraser, this incredibly exciting period is brought to life. Divided into 4 parts, the early, middle and late Triassic ages are explored. Appendices that cover topics such as fossil aging and Tetrapod anatomy complete this magnificent book. Beautifully illustrated by artist Douglas Henderson, Fraser has created a book in which the riches of Triassic life are presented with clarity, scientific accuracy, and imaginative recreation. Every history lover will treasure Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Fraser is curator of vertebrate paleontology and director of research and collections at the Virginia Museum of Natural History. He lives in Martinsville, Va. Henderson’s work has appeared in several national and international touring exhibits as well as numerous books and magazines, including the children’s books Living with Dinosaurs, Dinosaur Tree, Dinosaur Ghosts and, most recently, Asteroid Impact. He lives in Whitehall, Mont.
